Young Adults
A lot of people in church wonder where the young adults are. They wonder why that don't come to church on Sunday at 11am. Sunday is the Lord's day, but why can't we worship God everyday of the week. Many people point out the problem, but no one provides a solution. I am wondering what young adults want and need from the church? Please let me know. I am all ears.

It's a very important question. I read today's prayer from the Daily Text and wanted to share with you:
"Almighty God of Old Testament and New, we desire your grace and mercy. We ask you to not turn away from us when we are disobedient children. Entice us with your compassionate love - do not subject us to your wrath. Amen."
Ps. 90:13 and Luke 19:5
I am not sure whether young people really want or need anything different from anybody else, other than a sense of belonging and affirmation.
Young people are generally self-centered. This is not a bad thing but something they need to be in order to "find" themselves. They are very into their social lives, finding someone to date, having fun, looking good. Therefore, if a church activity can have some sort of benefit to their social lives as well as their spiritual lives, that would be a plus. Two things come to mind: an exercising peer group (they meet to run together, etc.), and a young singles dinner group or something. Just my thoughts. :)

Sorry, I just re-read my comment and it did not come out the way I wanted. I really did not mean self-centered in a bad way, so I should have used a different term. I think I was just thinking about how I was when I was 20-something. Maybe it was just me...:)
@Kim: No I thought your comments were great. Very true, too. I had to think back (way back) to those times, but you are right. I have some friends who do a bible study and beer tasting together. its about fellowship mixed with personal growth for them. I should say "used to" because they have left the country to do mission work for a year. Love it!!
